(Self-catering accommodation also available at the adjacent Pleasant Valley Cottage.) Pleasant Valley Guest House (formerly called Pleasant Valley House Hotel) is a small, very friendly hotel in lovely quiet surroundings a few minutes walk from Wisemans Bridge beach. The resorts of Saundersfoot and Tenby are only a few miles away.
We first stayed in mid February, just after the start of the 2003 season, and were very impressed both by the guest house and the off-peak special offer price which includes an evening meal. Pleasant Valley House is run by Sue and David Lumb who seem to regard their customers as part of their extended family. They are frequently to be found in the bar joining in with the lively conversation. The guest house attracts many repeat customers which speaks for itself, as does the fact that it was full in February. The food is good and plentiful. It is served at set times but this means there is almost no wait. Breakfast is a choice of fruit juice or cereal, followed by a 'full English', toast and tea or coffee (lighter alternatives are, of course, available). Dinner in the evening is a set three-course meal with tea/coffee. In our first three days we had roast beef, gammon with pineapple, and steak pie. Alternative dinners, such as curry, pasta or salad, can be ordered at breakfast time. There is quite a selection of drinks available in the small bar, including an excellent choice of single malt whiskys at a good price. Note that Pleasant Valley Guest House is completely non-smoking and has recently been upgraded to a four star guest house. We have returned to this guest house many times now and can thoroughly recommend it to anyone reading this web site.
