Between the town of Luxor and the Valley of the Kings stand two enormous seated statues. They are very eroded, but their sheer size makes the visit worthwhile. Originally the statues guarded the Temple of Amenophis III, but nothing remains of this.

Unlike most Egyptian tourist sites, this one is relatively free of hustling salesmen.
