There are several museums
in Cairo, but this one contains some of the more well-known exhibits.
Room after room of the Egyptian Museum contains statues and other artifacts dating back thousands of years.
In particular, many of the treasures from the tomb of Tutenkhamun are
on show, though you might have to fight your way through throngs of Japanese visitors to see the famous gold death-mask.
Photography is no longer permitted in the Egyptian Museum, though it was when we visited.
The solid gold death mask of Tutenkhamun
is housed
in a crowded room dedicated to
treasures.
